ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Story Board

After getting two days off because of the blizzard, I decided to pound a show out and talked about the storm that was in the aftermath. I added photos to the storyboard so people can actually see what was the blizzard of all blizzards of the last few decades.

I finish up with the story with Brian on how we got pulled over in the middle of nowhere because an RCMP didn't like somebody. spoiler, it wasn't us

A. Guys, it's tangents here. What is going on? Well, it is Friday. I absolutely forgot to show. The reason why is because I had the last two days off. Why? Because of a freaking blizzard. It was quite interesting. Good because for like half a week leading up to Tuesday night, people were saying that this is going to be a huge storm, one of the worst storms, be a blizzard wise, that we've had in decades. So of course they're going on and on saying this, saying that. Well, Tuesday it hit and I ventured out and it wasn't that bad. Like the wind was a blowing, the snow was falling down. If you check in the description notes, I will have a storyboard of a few pictures that I had grabbed on my way around town and if discover Estevan has pictures that I can use, I will credit the people who posted it and you get to see what it was like. Anyway. So I went ventured, went to seventy eleven, got snacks. Everything was good, everything was fine. I got around town absolutely okay. Woke up Wednesday expecting it to be the exact same wrong. Winds picked up, Snow was blowing everywhere. It got dumped. I had a pretty good snow drift behind my van. I wasn't leaving, I'm looking out. Kids went outside, played everything like that. Yesterday rolled around boss phones is don't go out. It's like I wish I could, but he can't. Swol won't. It was what you mean. I said I would like a three foot drift behind my van. The streets are plugged and there's travels not recommended around Estevan as well...

...as in Stavan. So Wednesday Thursday they were shutting down streets left and right. My mechanic tim his street, which was in town, like literally a twenty minute walk from my place now, was closed because the snow was getting so bad. Yes street within the city limits and they didn't recommend driving at all, and I don't blame them. So yesterday I could probs a doing I was doing dishes and I could hear beeping. So it's like, Oh, okay, kids must be playing video games. Looked all right, that's fortnight. That doesn't sound like beeping. Roll blocks. Never heard of it. Look it outside big front Inlogan, like, I mean one of the big ones, and they were doing the street. Holy Man, the snow they took them about what is it? Close to an hour just to get my air, like my road done. It was crazy. So I got outlook big snow banks started shoveling it out. When in came back out and the guy who maintains our trailer park actually went and dug the snow behind my vans. I got out, took off, looked and then they were working out another one. That's like how cold. I'll go out in about an hour. Went Back in, told the family what was happening and you know, laughs. Tuesday, Wednesday I kind of got sick of home cooked meals, as weird as that sounds, and I liked the girlfriend. It's like, I'm going to McDonald's, screw this, this is my plan. told...

...her I was going Walmart, I'll go to McDonald's and we can go from there. She goes okay, popped in the van started driving. Who I am glad. Last Thursday I got my stretch changed. The amount of roughness, like they tried getting it as close to the pavement as possible without hitting the pavement. So it was choppy, it was bumpy, everything like that. But fuck the way that as devan clears the snow is they push it into the middle of the road, which it's an easy way of removing the snow. Just in general. Well, in so many spots the snow bank that they push in the middle was halfway up my driver side window and on top of that, it was so wide. And this is the kicker there. When I when people ask me what it's like to drive in Estvan, I always say it's like a small big city. You have kind of like a square that's connected with four lanes to going one way to go in the other. There was so much snow that the inside lanes were basically packed with snow and you could not get into it. So you're driving on the outside lane and that was it. That's how packed you like, that's how much snow is in it. So it's like okay, so keep driving, go to Walmart and do my thing from Walmart and message girlfriend. It's like I'm going to McDonald's. Sends me less. Go to McDonald's. I'm at the intersection, turn right to go to the drive through. Looked no way of getting in. Oh, they close down the drivethrough. God Dang. It...

...did a huge loop to realize the city never factored into getting into basically McDonald's parking lot. So then I had to do another turn, which I'll have a map of my travels to show you how confusing it was. Finally I get into McDonald's. I was going to go pull up to go inside and says sorry, closed. It's like, God damn, it's restaurants closed. Go to and w restaurants closed. Go to dairy queen. Oh sweet dairy queen's open. Hallelujah, I gonna get the Burger message. The girlfriend told her dairy queen's open. Sends me a list. I go grab it. You know, let me tell you, dairy queen has a triple mocks, a mushroom Burger and all my God, where have you been all my life? I suck that sucker down. First thing that pumped into my head mouth was that. But first thing that popped in my head was I can see the reason why girls love more me, bigger they are all kick it anyway. So I grab that Whitet home, plot my ass down in that. It's what it is. I did take a few pictures of around me, the trailer park, and that's basically about it. I'm not one of a photogenic bug. If there was a photo I'm not the first one that goes, Oh my God, let me go, let me go, let me take a picture. I just basically look at and go, oh, that's kind of cool. If I had a camera that was on me where I had like a little clicker like the snap classes, I'm pretty sure that I...

...would take more pictures. But like right now, no, I just don't have the time to actually do it. So today I looked at what was it? EMERY and RHYMER. It's like gate guys, gotta go. I have a client that I have to go to, which is a nursing home and about in our eas stuff of where I live. So that's where I currently am right now, and roads are slick in something, probably eighty percent of it, but otherwise normal winter driving. I'm still pretty shocked about the storm. One of the reasons is depending what is where. Some spots got snow, like massive snow. You go you take look at my deck. I have snow deep, like as high as my knee and I'm six foot two over my boots. Then you go take a look at the swing set and right under that it's a dirt you look out my kitchen window you see grass, but yet up against a trailer, there's a huge snow bank. I just find it really weird. On the snow. What happened? I just don't really have too much to say about that one. Like that's how strange it was. Even my neighbor's car across the road. It's if we had at least one more day, that car would have been buried underneath this huge snow bank. But yet you go take a look somewhere else and they'll be not a trace of snow. I had to help dig my neighbor's front door out. I did it out of the kindness of my heart, just...

...to help, and I took a picture of that. That thing, that Snow Bank. I should have put skyler right by the Snow Bank, but that bank was about where my nipples are. It was I don't know, this year has been weird. Speaking about weird, I took a look at my facebook memories and a year ago we actually had another blizzard just like this one, but not as bad. Oh, oh, okay. I tried going to my warehouse to go get my invoice book. So I went there looked and the girlfriend's oldest son and a brother, they have their servying sticks in the exact same area as me and thus snow there's probably half to in between. A half. Yeah, let's just say half. Halfway up. The door like it. I'm looking at it going Yikes, go to mine. It's like, I'm not getting in there. I'll take a picture. So I took picture. I'll be posting that in the story board so you guys can actually see what's happening. And that's about it. I did get a feedback from Brian. I gave them the link to the show and he said that he was very touched about all the positivity. But here's one story that I have to tell you about Brian, and I know this is a big swing from the storm to Brian, but this one there. Everybody always has to have that one storm. Would Dale. I have stories with Hoyman. You've heard heard of them, but with Brian we basically kept ourselves.

It was computers. He started on his own business when I was hanging out with them and it's still going strong. But the one part that I found really interesting with him is we reminding our own business and Brian had a chance, an opportunity to buy what was it? A Mustang? It was just like a four banger. But the only problem was the Mustang had a big hole in the driver's side door. It was like rusted beyond rusted. How wasn't taken off the road from the with the previous owner? I don't have a freaking clue. But Brian he sold his cutlass, which that guy was. That car was just so many memories. But the cutlast went up. I think he gave Travis like eight hundred bucks for this car. Got It keep home, seeing the door and Brian worked his ass off to get this door fixed. So he I don't know exactly what he did. He was getting get up Bondo, I do know that. So he prepped it, he got figured. I came back the one day, took a look and there was no more hole. He primed it up with green paint. He was you want to go to Regina? It's like yeah, sure, so we went to Jina, did our thing, coming back and what was this? This was when it was a little bit colder, so it was kind of like in the winter season, and the reason why I mentioned the winner season is you'll you'll understand. So we hit my her rose at milestone, which is about half an hour away from home, and all of a sudden we have flashing red and blue lights behind us. I looked at Brian is...

...like, Dude, what you do? You go nothing. My cruss set out a hundred. So Brian Pulls over. Cop or the RCMP, comes up to our door and chess this huge, like horrible attitude towards us. I'm looking at Brian, Brian's looking at me and the guys asking questions like whose cars this was? It's mine. I just bought it like a week ago. And he goes, is this Travis has? Brian goes no, it was travis. Don't get smart with me. So this cop, he was just just I don't even know what kind of words to describe as attitude, like it wasn't nice. Brian and I are looking at each other going okay, what's going on? The COP says get out, so I was. It was cold, so I was going to go back around grab my coat and carcass no, get now, like can I grab my coat? No, so both Brian and I never had coats. It was either late fall where it was getting cold, or it was winter itself, and we're standing outside in the prairies freezing our balls off as this cop is trying everything possible to get to that hole. I look at Brian is like what is he doing? Brian goes this cop lives across the street from Travis. This cop doesn't like Travis because of travisis cars. It's like, so, what are you trying to do, or what's he trying to do? I think he's trying to get my car taken off throat. Well, if he gets nothing and we can go home, can you beat my autobody repair guy in the future? Brian starts laughing. The COP stops, shines lights on us.

What's going on? It's like we're called. Brian is like shut up. COP goes back. So he's on his hands and knees, he's tapping the door, he's doing everything, looking in the door, trying to get under the door panel, he's going underneath the car taking looks. We were standing out there for fifteen minutes. Both Brian Hi. We are jumping around, trying to stay warm, everything like that. Cop Looks, mumble something that I don't remember, tells us to get home. So both, of course, Bryan I hopped in her his car and took off crank heat. Then, yeah, Brian then explained a little bit louder that Travis likes racing, but like drag racing. So he has in Nesten that can do the quarter miling like nine plus seconds. So this guy basically hates the travis like down to the tea. So with him, he knew about the car, he knew about the whole cancer, the reason why he was trying to get into the door and then under the door panel to see if it was it. I don't ever recall happening to this car, but that was a very cold freaking night, but something I will never ever forget standing there on the side of the road in winter, basically with no code on, as this COP is trying to tear this car apart to try getting him pulled off the rope. Well, every thank God you never pulled off the demon because that thing it's amazing that I ever got pulled off the road because of how rough condition it actually was. Anyway, guys, there's a little two stories for today's episode which, like I said, when you have two days off and...
